about

This song came to me after a weekend medicine retreat. I was called to write something in the blues format, and along the way, I found it to be an exercise in keeping things simple - allowing the feelings to speak for themselves, instead of overcomplicating the lyrics or music.

lyrics

Ooooh…

Your soul feels shattered
Your water runs dry
You stand alone in the jungle of your mind
It seems you forgot how to fly

But I am here
I’ll never leave your side
I’ll hold your singing this lullaby

Now Mama, I hear you crying
“I don’t wanna be broken no more”
Together we’ll build the mosaics of our souls
The opus to open the door

Now Daddy, you are my mountain
Our love, a free solo climb
But just in case, I brought rope & anchor
For meeting of our hearts and our minds

Cause I am here
I’ll never leave your side
I’ll hold you singing this lullaby

Now since I been walkin down this road of healing, I have seen the light
All I want is to help you see love in your life

Organ solo

Now Lover, I see you flying
Your hard work a deep crimson shine
But now it’s time to step away with me
Remember what makes us divine

Cause I am here
I’ll never leave your side
I’ll hold you singing this lullaby

Because
We are not alone
We can find our home
We can can claim our thrones together
And with this lullaby
We can pacify
All our tears will dry together
Ohhhh
Oooooh…
