This is a song I often use toward the end of a sound bath to guide people from the deeper states of meditation to a more awakened state. It's a gentle journey from the depths of our consciousness to a place of hope and celebration.
The vocalise is a song form that dates back to the 18th century (in European/Western music), and often made use of a variety of consonants and vowels sounds to warm up the voice. Since that time, the song form, which uses non-linguistic syllables instead of words, has evolved to include standalone pieces meant for performance, and has since been adapted to many different genres.
